Barbara Stokes

Barbara Stokes, PsyD
Pre-Licensed Postdoctoral Fellow

If you are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, navigating a life transition, healing from trauma, or seeking greater personal growth, you do not have to navigate it alone. I believe therapy begins with genuine connection and a safe space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. My approach is individualized and patient-centered, meeting you where you are and working alongside you to build on your strengths, develop effective tools, and move toward meaningful change. It is a privilege to walk alongside my clients throughout their healing journeys.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals. My clinical interests include depression, anxiety, PTSD, combat trauma, sexual trauma, long-term mental health concerns, life transitions, personal growth, and psychological testing and evaluation.

I am a pre-licensed postdoctoral fellow at Soul Work Counseling, practicing under supervision as I work toward licensure as a psychologist. I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology (PsyD) from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. I have experience working with diverse populations in rural Minnesota as well as young adults in college, addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and academic challenges.

I look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely,

Barbara
