Kaley C. Bohlin, BA, Pre-Licensed Doctoral Candidate
We can’t begin to heal if we don’t feel safe enough to be ourselves. In the therapeutic space, I believe it is vital for therapists to approach clients with understanding and curiosity rather than judgment. Instead of asking, “Why do I engage in this behavior?” I can help you seek insight into what the function is behind the behavior. Whether you, or your child, are facing challenges with significant life transitions, emotion regulation, relationships, or navigating trauma, I aspire to create an identity-affirming, strengths-based space where you and I can work collaboratively to begin your healing journey.
My name is Kaley Bohlin (she/her/hers), and I am a fourth-year doctoral student studying in the Clinical Psychology program (PsyD) at Augsburg University. At Soul Work Counseling, I offer individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as psychological assessment services.
I work with clients across the lifespan, with much of my experience involving children, adolescents, and families. I specialize in working with eating disorders, body image concerns, mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, diagnoses involving neurodiversity (e.g., ADHD), and obsessive-compulsive disorders. I also enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. In our work together, I am highly passionate about meeting you where you are in formulating a treatment plan based on your therapy goals. Regarding therapeutic modalities, I primarily utilize a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
In addition to therapy, I offer psychological testing and assessment services. Common referral questions include diagnostic clarification, ADHD (age 8+), adolescent and adult Autism, and personality disorder-related symptoms. Other reasons for evaluation include pre-bariatric surgery assessment and psychological evaluations prior to a surgery for pain management.
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with loved ones and friends, exploring new coffee shops, becoming absolutely immersed in reading, learning new languages, and spoiling my 100+ pet blue velvet shrimp.
I look forward to meeting and supporting you on your mental health journey.
